Flashing lights/colors, auditory and visual jumpscares, disturbing imagery, violence against children, child death, foul language, brief mentions of adultery, dark jokes, unfunny jokes, and the English

It's New Year's Eve 1984, and your family is on the brink of homelessness... Again. Follow Christine as she naively takes on the task of earning rent money by selling matchbooks- a near impossible feat as your neighbors are still feeling the effects of a mysterious fire that broke out recently.

Made by a smooth brain artist who stubbornly didn't want to use an actual program for visual novels and instead jerry-rigged software with a visual coding language that would give the actual computer scientists in her family a stroke from how much duct tape and shoestrings everything behind the curtain is held together with ♥

And apologies to fellow potato users for the low framerate.

Everything about this game was spectacular, from the art, the spooky effects, and the character writing. The game drew me in almost instantly from the start. I really liked the level of interaction at the beginning and the sense of (kind of) normalcy which caught me off guard when the jumpscares happened.

I was sad when I got the third ending because I wanted to see what happened next lol. I will definitely be following this project and I can’t wait to see it further developed. I also would love to see an interface/menu to be able to skip past dialogue and explore the other endings faster. Other than that this is an amazing piece of work.

Very good game aside from some few little nitpicks here and there! I really would love to see the rest of this story eventually! Alistair and Christine have this great dynamic and Alistair is just hilarious and interesting in the best weird way possible! Best of luck on the project!

That was interesting! I liked the interactions between Christine and Alistair, their writing feels very flowy and natural. Also, I loooove the pencil/sketch kind of art style with only slight touches of red, it looks really good and definitely adds to the experience! Honestly, I'm kinda looking forward to seeing more of this story, lol. Great job!!
